According to different authors and my personal experience, the number of complications after circumcision has increased nowadays.
I would like to notice that circumcision is a surgical operation, which may lead to serious complications. That is why one shouldn't apply to inexperienced people, or to people who have no medical and surgical qualification at all, because this is fraught with postoperative complications, such as pain or allergic shock, bleeding, purulence, balanus circumcision, phimosis recurrence, tissues necrosis, cosmetic defects, constriction of urethra opening, wound disruption.
Most frequently these complications occur after ritual circumcisions, namely circumcisions that have been performed at home. In this case this is connected with violations of antiseptics rules, usage of non-sterile tools. Such complications lead not only to physical and psychological traumas of children but to moral traumas of parents (i.e. psychological upset) as well.
Complications require inpatient treatment in special hospitals of urological or andrological type.
Circumcision is performed only on healthy children, starting with the age of 7 days.
Circumcision is prohibited under such pathologies as hypospadias, small penis.
