Month 1st. The first smile in return to an adult's words. Attempts to raise and hold the head, lying on belly.
Month 2nd. Examining of hanging toys, quick response with a smile on words.
Month 3rd. Smile, active movement of hands and legs, sounds in response to an adult's words.
Month 4th. Turning of the head to the source of sound, loud laugh, seizing and examining of hanging toys.
Month 5th. Recognition of relatives, differing reaction on relatives and strangers, melodious sounds.
Month 6th. Pronunciation of separate syllables, good ability to eat from a spoon, easy taking of rattles from different positions.
Month 7th. Repeated pronunciation of one and the same syllables, on the question "Where is….. (light, watch and so on)?; easy search and finding of things.
Month 8th. Realization of learned movements at an adult's request.
Month 9th. When asked a question: "Where is…?" a baby finds things and people, recognizes his name, responds to a call.
Month 10th. Repetition of various sounds and syllables after adults, finding toys at an adult's request, performance of learned actions with things.
Month 11th. Usage of the first marking words, acquirement of new actions with things.
Month 12th. Easy imitation to new syllables, usage of approximately 10 words, independent drinking from a cup.
Acquaintance with the indexes of normal psychomotor development of children of the first year of life will let you timely shape many of skills and abilities of your baby.
Hearting
By the end of the second week up to the end of the 1st month a baby starts to react on sharp sounds. Months 2 - 3rd. Clear reaction on sounds and brief listening to them.
Sight
Months 1-2nd. Fixation of sight on faces of surrounding people and on things. Unstable ability to follow things movement.
Months 2-3rd. Ability to follow things movement.
Middle of the 3rd month. Distinguishing of surrounding things, prolonged concentration of sight, following the things.
Motion
Month 1st. Confused hands and legs movements.
Months 2 - 2.5. A child holds his head in vertical position. Lying on belly he raises his head.
Months 3 - 3.5. Lying on the belly a baby raises his body, leaning on forearms. He can stand if supported.
Hearing
Months 4 - 4.5. A baby quickly and accurately listens to the source of a sound.
Sight
Month 5th. There appears an ability to watch things by both eyes, when they are near a baby. A baby can distinguish the main colours and shapes.
Motion
Month 4th. A baby can move from his back to his side. He can sit if supported by hands.
Months 5 - 5.5. A baby moves from his back to his belly. When lying on the belly he raises his body leaning on straight hands. He can stand when supported by hands, makes steps when supported.
Hearing
Month 6th. There is observed constant activity of a child in response to sound irritants. This response is of various types.
Months 10 - 11th. Reaction on sound in connection with its content and meaning.
Sight
Month 6th. Ability to distinguish colours, surrounding things; expression of certain attitude to them.
Motion
Month 6th. A baby moves from his belly to his back.
Month 7th. A baby goes down on all fours
Months 8 - 8.5. A baby can sit without support. He grabbles. He can sit from lying position; he can lie from sitting position. He can stand up, holding on a fixed support.
Month 10th. A baby makes steps, holding by both hands on a moving support.
Month 11 - 12. A baby stands without support. He squats, stands up, makes steps without support (initial walking)
